I have arthritis in bilateral shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles cervical vertebrae and lumber vertebrae.....all confirmed by bone scan!! The Rheumy I went to said I just have hip tendinitis and wasn't willing to pursue this anymore. My GP has put me on Celebrex and Voltaren Gel and it seems to be helping. The pain has gone from 100% to about 30%. The problem is that my last creatinine and GFR has shown that my kidney function has dropped. eGFR is 70%. (Stage 2 Kidney disease). While this is not at the level of chronic kidney disease, it is still concerning. I am not sure how to proceed. I am currently taking Celebrex 200mg twice daily and my GP has suggested that I should lower it to 200mg once daily but I do not want the pain to return!! Has anyone had a problem with kidney function from this NSAID? I tried Diclofenac Sodium and Etodolac previously but they really did not help as the Celebrex has.

Also concerned that the arthritis is in joints that are not normally affected by osteoarthritis but the tests (CRP, Sed Rate etc.) are negative at this point and my GP (and the Rheumy) are not willing to put a name to what this is!
I am just not sure what I should do next? Hoppy
