Depending on what your doc finds, there are many drugs for different kinds of arthritis that might help and don't affect platelets. Besides drugs, physical therapy is probably the best thing you can do for an arthritic spine. You need to keep those back and abdominal muscles very strong and that will lessen the work load of the spine and the pain with it. Acupuncture is great for chronic spine pain. And massage can work wonders when all the muscles get painful.
Celebrex is expensive but it should be going generic fairly soon and that will help. But yeah, it was the only drug I could use while on blood thinners post-surgery. My daughter had ITP as a child and has to watch what she takes as it could return and now she has Crohn's disease.
Hang in there and wait to see what the doc finds and let us know. But either way, it is treatable one way or the other.
