Sorry....I've been out sick and I usually haunt this board to answer what I can.
Yes, you can have a positive Rheumatoid Factor and still have fibromyalgia. About 5% of the general population has a positive RF without having any of the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis. It is only 1 of 7 criteria for RA of which you must have at least 4. A positive RF is diagnostic of nothing unless you have a whole bunch of other symptoms.
Glad she doesn't have RA.
