Hi some possibly important thoughts for arthritis sufferers

Hi doctors sometimes use steroids for arthritis. Sometimes these strong manmade steroids lower the immune system and in the end are not that healthy for the body. The brassica set of plants however such as cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, rutabega, and turnips also called cole crops contain plant sterols also called phytosterols. Perhaps if those who have arthritis eat more of these they would benefit.

Thank you and welcome on board!
I am glad you share this information with others, but ... I live on these type foods for many-many years in juice form, sauteing, salads, grilling - you name it.
I am not saying it may not help someone, even if its not for Arthritis, it healthy in general. What can be better than cabbage salad, right? Worth to try, but one has to add it to your menu at least 3-4 times a week to see any results. It can't hurt, so eat, drink and enjoy!!

Re: Hi some possibly important thoughts for arthritis sufferers

My husband and I eat mainly cole crop vegetables - broccoli and cauliflower mainly. I have osteoarthritis in my shoulders, hands (wrists to fingertips), neck, lower back (have 6 pins there, sacroiliac joint, knees (one replacement so far), ankles and toes. Seeing as how we eat cole crop vegetables 4-5 or more nights a week, one would think my arthritis would be getting better, but it is getting progressivly worse. Those vegetables are wonderful for your health in general, but do nothing specific for arthritis.
