| Mystery Diagnosis?! Bruising behind Knee, Joint, leg, and back pain
Hi, I know this is long, bear with me! I am a 24 year old female, and I need to know if anyone else has ever had these symptoms. When I was 22 years old, I contracted Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. I apparently had it for two months without knowing, (I didn't show any smptoms) until my joints started hurting and I couldn't move them. The doctors said it spread to my joints ( called gonoccocal arthritis) I got treated for both and they said it was gone. Well two months later I was still having pain. In my knees, shoulders, and fingers. They said to take some steroids and it should get better. Well, it did. Temporarily. Since January, I have had severe pain that has started again. It started in my back. Really severe pain. Then my butt, legs and knees. My back has been bad on and off but lately I have had severe pain in my knees. Back in December before I quit running, before the pain started, everything seemed mild. Not too bad to worry about. But now, I can hardly stand for 30 minutes without having to sit down. My knees and legs will ache and burn so bad, and when I look, there is bruising on the back of my knees. I have been to the doctor and have had and MRI and an x-ray done on my back. The only thing the MRI showed was a very small slipped disc in my back. (he said not enough to cause any pain) I have been trying to relax and go for walks to mix it up, but nothing helps. I am beginning to wonder if MS is a possibility? I'm not entirely sure whether or not any of this is related to the STDs from over two years ago, but I need to know! I also have PCOS, and I wonder if it could be related to that. NONE of the doctors I have been to have been able to help me, and I don't have health insurance to continue going, as I have been paying out of pocket. If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated! When I ask the doctors, "Do you think this is related to the STDs I've had?" They either say, "Its a possibility" (and never bring it up again) or "No, I don't think it is" and move on. None of them take me seriously! Thank you for your time
