I have a sore spot on the bottom of the palm of my hand, right above the wrist. Finally got in to see the Orthopaedic doc tor today. X-ray's showed it's arthritis. I've been on anti inflammatories for years and it hasn't helping this. So she gave me a steroid injection. GO back in 4 weeks and if that doesn't work she said next step would be to remove the bone. Anyone ever had this done? It's trobbing and burning yet tonight. SHe said it could take up to 2 weeks for the injection to work.
I would go and see Ortho hand/arm specialist, not a surgeon and before I would agree to any surgery, I would see few opinons. Honestly, I had never heard about surgery on someone with Arthritic pain, it has to be more than that before surgery needed. For example, OA in my knee left my knee bone-on-bone situation and knee needs to be replaced after may surgeries I had before.
Be careful and do a lot of homework.
