| Pain in the abductor muscle(?)
I'll start that I've been having these pains for about 8 year, so it's not something that's just appeared.
When does it happen?
Usually when I'm gripping stuff. For example, using a screw driver, or more recently when gripping an ice scraper to clear the windscreen of a car.
What happens?
When using a screwdriver for example, after a little while I start to feel a pain in the big pad at the bottom of my thumb (palm side), and it feels like it starts to swell, it becomes hard to touch and very tender. The range of motion in my thumb is reduced as a result.
I did ask a doctor about this problem a number of years ago, and he said I must be holding the screwdriver wrong!!
As the problem is becoming more and more frequent, I thought i'd do some research but can't really find anything online that really pin-points my exact symptoms.
Can anyone confirm if it maybe arthritis? or is it more a muscle issue?
