Does anyone have a child with 'Asperger's Syndrome'? I've been researching abit and Im positive my son has this...I'd love to hear from any or all of you!..thanks

Hi, I think my son might have Aspergers also. He was tested at school and they ruled it out, but he needs a medical diagnosis. My girlfriends son has been diagnosed, he is 13 years old. Why do you think your son has it? Several of my friends have mentioned to me that my 9 year old son might have Aspergers. It's just getting him to the right doctor that is taking so much time. hi there!

my 6 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with asperger's syndrome. we suspected it for a long time and finally got the diagnosis. my daughter is extremely intelligent but almost totally lacks social skills. she also has ocd and we're currently trying to decide on medications, if any. she prefers to be alone at school most of the time and seems to not notice other people's feelings, etc. she did not speak until she was 4 years old, but could read a book and write it down for you later. she is doing slightly better now but we still have a long way to go. good luck!

Hey Connor5..I just recently had my son tested by a psyhcologist (the school was asking us to). The psychologist diagnosed him as extreamly high function autism..she said he was a hair line over from being normal. The more i read on aspergers syndrome the more I am convinced thats what he has. For starters...he is a very affectionate child, talks up a storm about computer games, dinosaurs (stuff he's interested in)..he's so factual...he scored at age 10 level at the psychologists and he's only 7. He didnt start really talking till he was 5 (speach therapy through school has brought him completely up to speed...he speaks perfectly now). When it comes to making friends, thats the tough part....its like he's waiting for the kids to come to him , but they dont....it was easy for him in primary and grade 1 because he was so small and angelic looking...the kids flocked around him...now its not so easy (mind you he's still real cute..lol)...he tells me he wants friends but cant find any....he plays perfectly with his cousins and my best friends son...but new kids...forget it...he cant do it on his own.....feel free to email me anytime..maybe we can help guide eachother hey....

IT DOES SOUND LIKE IT, YOUR THE PARENT , YOU KNOW YOUR CHILD, GO WITH YOUR INSTINCTS, I ALWAYS SAY THAT, AND USUALLY I FIND ITS THE BEST THING TO DO.
