IT is for me and my dh. My ds (4) is the one in question. I would like to learn more about it. How to help treat it, how to teach to him. How to have patience with him.... things like that. How to explain it to my parents and family members.
"High Functioning Individuals With Autism" edited by Eric Schopler and Gary Mesibov. Cover lots of areas concerning more able autistic peole. Written by parents, autistic individuals, psychiatrists and gives a great overview of practically ever issue concerning autism that you could imagine. I don't remember the cost. I purchased the book at an autism conference and it has been a valuable tool for my husband and I.
Have a look on amazon under Aspergers - There's loads of books aimed at parents of young children. Jessica Kingsley Publishers (search for them on a search engine) also offer a lot of great books!
