So, today has been the first time I really paid much attention to Asperger's...I've known about autism for a long time...anyhow, I read the symptoms, some other info, and it creeps me out just how much I relate to almost all of it. It'd also make sense of problems I had when I was younger that I either still carry or have lessened (for example, a speech problem I went to a therapist about and got rid of!), and a lot of the problems I have now that just make NO sense to me. I took an Aspie quiz online, and scored quite high on that, even higher than the score that people with ADD but not Asperger's get on it. I'm also quite hypersensitive to my environment, enough so that a friend of mine required a book to me last year about being hypersensitive.
I'm just wondering, how were you diagnosed with Aspergers? I'm 22 years old so it's not as if a school would say, "How come this person is having problems?" Is this something your normal physician would have to check, or are there tests? Or do I have to go to a specialist?
