Re: disability for autism/aspergers

You already answered your own question since you already stated you know someone collecting SSI who has autism/aspergers.

Suggest that you speak with an attorney who deals only in Social Security Disability cases to determine what your options are.
If you do, ask what the backlog status is in your state. Some states have a backlog from months to years from the initial filing>denials>appeals>reconsideration>h earing>final approval>$$$$ & that is if you win your case.

So, if you even consider filing for SSI, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you file immedialy.

Are you a high functioning asperger person (high IQ)?

Re: disability for autism/aspergers

i didnt go to my appt with the specialist who specilizes in autism yet so waiting for that. i am not sure how the other perosn got disibility for aspergers i think she went to this place who knew she wasnt able to transition etc or do her work. i am not sure of my IQ until i go to that doctor. but the psycologist said i am on the spectrum they just dont specalize to tell me where i am but sounds like aspergers they say but cant diagnose only PDD they said.
