Can you grow out of Asperger's?

My older sister was diagnosed when she was 26. We lost touch a long time ago and I was thinking of reaching out to her. She's about 35 right now. Is it a syndrome that you grow out of or can it stay with you into adulthood? Is it something I should even ask about?

Re: Can you grow out of Asperger's?

People with Asperger's brains work a little diffently than people who don't have asperger's (neurotypical). So, no you can't outgrow asperger's. You just can learn how to function better within your own limits.

Re: Can you grow out of Asperger's?

My daughter has this and she has gotten much much better...but still has some difficulties. You wouldnt be able to tell she has problems unless you were around her alot though. So, much better can be enough to function and have a pretty normal life.
