I was wondering how I could've gotten this. Would it be possible that the same white fungus that is killing my plants has affected me? Could I have caught this from my friend who is asthmatic and who previously has had fungal lung infections?? And also... will it ever GO AWAY!!??!!
lol, my basketball season is fastly approaching. My doctor put a 7 day ban from all triggers on me.  So that means, I'm gonna be totally outta shape!!!!!!  |
I spent two weeks out of gymnastics when I had pneumonia all at once. If you know anything about gymnastics, you know that staying in shape(cardiovascularly and muscle wise) is extremely important. Floor exercise, which was my favorite event, became impossible, and my coach wouldn't put me in meets b/c I couldn't finish routines.
After 3 flareups & viral & bacterial (at the same time)pneumonia(all in 3 months!), I am proud to say I finished at 6th place in my conference meet on floor exercise. I was put in as a replacement, I was nervous like nothing else. I needed my inhaler immediately afterwards, & I wasn't feeling 2 good 2 start with. I KNEW though it would be the biggest accomplishment the entire time if I could finish..and I did!
Yes it was tough dealing with the setbacks of not being able to do anything in gymnastics. Some practices, even my mount on bars would get me out of breath, and I'd cry out of frustration. This was supposed 2 be my year! Where I worked hard and learned new things and did well!
What I got was a season I tried 2 come out of alive. Many times my doctors told me 2 quit.
And through all the pain it put me through to finish the season, I wouldn't have any other way. And that last conference meet, I finished with my highest scores of the season. I couldn't have been prouder.
Moral of the story: You CAN still accomplish things with asthma =).
