Pumping my body full of **** - Asthma Message Board

I was diagnosed athmatic at eight moths old. I am now 16 and a half years old. I hardly ever take my inhalers except the reliever as and when I need it coz I'm worried about punmping my body full of drugs and ****. Im also on antidepressants and the pill and Im worried about these too. Does anyone have any advice and/or feel the same way?

you should take your subscribed meds as you are very young, and if you don't you could have much worse breathing problems when you get older and it will be too late for help. the only damaging asthma medications are oral steroids and its understandable if you have trouble taking them. as far as antidepresants if you are on a ssi such as prozac, zoloft those are not damaging to a person at all..

My childrens illness was caused by CHLORINATED WATER
They both became ill with horrible coughs that lasted 10 months,before (with no help from their doctors), I finally figured it out.
My childrens pediaticians started treating my 3 year old and 6 year old for asthma about 2 months into the ten month ordeal. when after 10 months of them being very ill I discovered it was the chlorinated water in our water system that the water company had started putting in the water ten months before.
After imediatly starting them on bottled water from the store they became well.
My 6 year old 100% well and my daughter 95% well.
The only change she still needed was to get away from bathing in chlorinated water.
The bathroom is filled with chlorinated steam that she breathes in so it still got into her system. The bathroom we had at the time was also small and not ventilated well.
Then I had to be sure she was not getting it at their schools and at friends home in juice or koolaide etc.
I know that Asthma is a very real illness but ours was mistaken identity.Is yours???
I'm sure ours can't be the only case of it.
