Hi all I just got put on the miracle drug.It's Called Prednisone.It is only for severe asthma sufferers,but oit works very very well!!!

were they unable to control your asthma with oral steroids? Most of the time doctors prefer to keep people off oral steroids as they have bad side effects.Do you take inhalers also??
Well I still have to use inhalors for emergencies and such btu the doctor saaid taking prednisone would reduce my chances of being sent to the ER.I got an asthma attack in a parade and that's when he put me on it. anyway i use flovent azmacort albuterol ventolin and proventil.
Do you take flovent and prednisone pills? what dosage is your prednisone pills? flovent is an inhaled steroid that will usually help fend off attacks. I have heard of taking prednisone after a cold to help stop the wheezing. I usually take prednisone for a week or two when I get a cold because its great at controling wheezing. You live in holland mi, can you go to the university of michigan to see a doc there to get a good ananysis of your asthma?
Yes I take flovent and prednisone.My prednisone dosage is 50 mg once a day.Umm well i suppose i could go to a doctor in the UofM but I have a great doctor now who is a great specialist in teen's asthma so He is very helpful.What I didn't say was that I am on a nebulizer also. :Blob2: WBS Kaitlin
