Asthma from inside allegens gone but will shots help outdoor allergens asthma? - Asthma Message Board

Since I switched to nontoxic cleaning products, the asthma due to inside allegens is gone (some of the old products created asthma attacks that lasted days!). It has been recommended that I try allergy shots to decrease/stop asthma due to pollen. Do these really work? I tried them once before for a couple of years and my asthma did improve as my allergies to pollen decreased but how do they work longterm? I guess taking allergy shots once a month for life is better than being on inhalers for life! Right?

non toxic household cleaners are a better choice. They say the air purifiers are good for polen allergies too

My little girl takes allergy injections 3 days a week and it has been a life saver..before we were tied to the nebulizer daily and she was on 5 meds also and we were still in the hospital once every three months!!
She takes injections now for inhaled(trees ,grasses,dust mites,pet dander,and anything else it seems she breathed) and ingested( soy,squash,melon,oranges,and a few others)the only thing we were unable to include was peanuts because she has anaphalaxis and we just have to avoid any peanut products....the difference in her after only 3 months of shots was unbelievable!!!!!!! Dear Sandra,
My daughter (5 years old) is getting allergy testing and may need shots. How old is your daughter? How do you get her to tolerate the shots? My daughter is terrified of the very idea of shots. Has your daughter ever had bad reactions to the shots?
