I was wondering if anyone has a different ventolin inhaler from the aerosol one?
I was wondering because im bad at co-ordinating my breathing for the spray, lol! If you do, please post back with the brand name, so i can maybe get some prescribed, thanx.

Ventolin comes in nebule format (rather expensive, requires extra equiment and a compressor,) also comes in something called diskhalers, that are powder and easier to take.

Something ventolin-like but that ISN'T Ventolin is called Bricanyl and that's also a powder inhaler. A different style of doing it though.

Depends entirely on what works best for you. Bricanyl can hold quite a few doses before you need to get a new one -- the diskhaler can only hold 1 disk with 8 doses in it before you need to start replacing disks or carrying extra disks with your inhaler-dealie. The diskhaler is also kept for a long time and has to be cleaned, since it's just refilled with drug every time you put in a new disk instead of being replaced every time like the Bricanyl.

You might find bricanyl affects your heart more and gives you more tremors than ventolin.

But go talk to your doctor and tell him the spray is a problem for you. He should be able to prescribe an alternative.

Ok thanx, ill ask about them both. Have you ever heard of a "turbuhaler" either? I heard it comes with ventolin, you click it and then breathe in the powder, is that like the Bricanyl inhaler you were suggesting? Thanx

Yes, the name of the dry powder inhaler (DPI) used for Bricanyl is called a turbuhaler.

Other drugs come in this turbuhaler, like Pulmicort, and in Canada, Symbicort and Oxeze.
