Exercise with severe asthma - Asthma Message Board

I try to keep a regular exercise program taking my asthma meds before I go but I still cannot keep up a regular routine without becoming sicker.. Any advise?

I am in the same boat Cleccu. Have you found that an existing routine has started to become harder, or are you only just starting out?

I found that the problem was the environment.. I used to do gymnastics in a dirty dusty moldy gym, literally foot high piles of dust.. right now i'm in off season & work out in a spotless clean gym. usually allergic asthma attacks can't be prevented by your albuterol inhaler.. talk to your doctor about a stronger inhaled steroid or change locations.

I have been exercising for a while.. I started a regular exercise routine about two years ago. I am in a really clean gym to do my exercising but I am still getting sick...

I am sorry to hear that Cleccu. Are you saying that you've always found exercising tough-going or is this a new development?
