He put me on Singulair and Vospire. He didn't give me an inhaler. I am not sure why. I guess because I wasn't experienceing wheezing. All I had was that bad cough and I failed my breathing test. I have to go in and do allergy testing on Tuesday.

Have any of you taken these meds that I have mentioned and have you had any bad side effects from them?

Has he diagnose you with asthma? You should ask him about the inhaler the next time you go and see him. The bad cough might turn out to be an even worse reaction(severe breathing difficulty) which makes you needing an inhaler if asthma is your problem. Good luck anyway!

If you have asthma then you should definately have a reliever inhaler.
speak to your doctor and ask hime to explain stuff to you.

I am not familiar with Vospire - do you live outside the US?

Singulair is generally very tolerant for most people. It works to prevent allergic response, including allergic asthma. That said, it does not work for everyone. I know plenty of people who swear by it, and I know plenty of people for whom it did nothing at all.

I was dx with asthma. I had it when I was a child and it seemed like I had outgrown it when I turned 22-23. Now that I am 31 here I am dealing with it again. I am going to see the dr on Tuesday for my allegy testing and i am going to ask him for an inhaler.

My cough is awful. I have had asthma attacks before in the past and the inhaler took care of it. However the cough that i have now is a lot worse than the one I used to get in the past. -And that has me worried.

I live in Texas. The Vospice is like a bronchiolater(sp). I have to take that twice a day as needed. I have been taking it twice a day since Thursday.

Sorry to hear that the asthma came back. But actually, kids who have astham usually don't out grow their asthma when they grow up. The absence of asthma is probably just that the disease is 'dormant' but not 'extinct'. So that's probably why you are having the asthma again. Hope your cough will be better!

Thanks. I went in for the allergy testing and now I have to eliminate dairy and chocolate to help my asthma. I have bronchial asthma. I have to get allergy shots 3x a week for about the next 5 yrs. I still h ave that annoying asthma cough but the dr said in due time it should get better. He gave me an albuterol inhaler and I am taking Singulair and Vospice for the asthma.
