Hello. I am male, 15 and live in Australia. A few hours ago I finished dinner (pastry) and then I began to have shortness of breath, and it hasn't stopped.
If I go outside it gets a bit better, which is good. When my mother was alive, she thought I had asthma and she was always over-protective but there were no signs of it. After 4 years, I haven't had anything like this.
I am quite worried, and I am scared it is something serious. It is 2:30am here in Australia. I told my father and he said not to worry and we will see in the morning.
I don't really want to go to sleep because I might die in my sleep. Which is probably completely wrong, so I hope someone repsonds quickly to deny that.
I might stay up all night and go to emergency tommorow. Any suggestions?
Unless you feel like every breath you take may be your last, the best thing to do is remain calm, try to improve your breathing with whatever methods you feel help and go to sleep - even if this means sleeping outside.
Express your concerns to your father in the morning and have him take you to see a physician. There are a series of test you will be given to determine if you do have asthma or allergies.
