Hey Guys...I got put on Pulmicort on Monday...how long does it take to start taking affect? Also, I skimmed over the instructions when I got it, and it says something about a window to indicate how many doses you have left...I don't see where they are talking about.
I use pulmicort (200) and it works well for me. You should start feeling better (somewhat less symptoms) in a few days.
What is the dosage of yours and how many times a day to you use it?
If you take the mouthpiece of the container off, check inside and you'll see a large hole with a coloured (blue) stopper in it, and opposite to that is another hole where the medicine comes out of. Between them is a long "window" that has a wheel in it. now look on the side, and that's what you can see when the mouthpiece is on.
Around 190 dosages taken, you'll start to see a red line appear...that will tell you that you have around 10 more dosages left...and to get a new one. Once the red line goes to the bottom of the window, throw it away and start your new one.
But remember...with each click (turn of the bottom), the wheel will turn and bring the red line closer to determine the end. So, focus on when you click it preparing for the next dosage. I sometimes forget if I did, so I click the bottom again.
I hope this makes sense.
Oh, remember to rinse/gargle with clear water after using it. Spit the water out, don't swallow it.

I have the turbohaler (200 also) and the respules for my neb. It helps me in my neb within an hour, but the inhaler I feel less effect and it takes a few days.
