| Re: How does one know if they have a lung infection?
There are many different kinds of lung infections, usually known as lower respiratory infections, bronchitis, pneumonia, etc. Depending on the cause & the location, it can cause coughing, wheezing, stridor, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny nose, stuff lke that. No, long term albuterol use can't really cause a resp. infection. It can cause more inflammation but not an infection. That's why they usually prescribe albuterol to people who don't have asthma but get bronchitis or pneumonia.
See your doctor for a chest xray, that will tell what is going on.
