Can you mix and nebulize together? For some reason I can't get an answer from my doc's office. I've been trying for two days. The nurse called back, but said she didn't know and would check and call me back....still waiting.
If not, can I at least use the pulmicort in the neb right after the xopenex?
Pulmicort isn't approved to be mixed with anything. You should do it by itself. BUT I mix pulmicort and albueterol. They do this in the doctor's office too. I've never had any trouble.
My doctor said that they [his office] conducted a study on mixing Pulmicort with other nebulized meds (Atrovent, albuterol, and Xopenex) and found it to be safe.
Thanks all! I have since gone to a pulmonary specialist who couldn't figure out why I was given the neb version of pulmicort to begin with. He has taken me off everything and put me on alvair. Then in two weeks I go in for testing. I'm finally feeling like I'm getting control of the situation!

I was on the nebulized Pulmicort for a while too, and I wasn't quite sure why I was on it either. Advair is excellent, I think that you'll find that it helps a lot.

When I go on the neb Pulmicort,,,it seems it takes a few days to 'kick in' so to speak. When it does,,,it starts working really well. However,,,I probably wait to long to go to the doc and the infection is real bad. Hopefully,,,it will kick in right away for ya!
Feel good!
