I live in Atlanta GA, so its not the best place as the humidity, and worst of all human made smog covers the whole metro areas and makes things quite uncomfortable.
I'm sure the more rural areas of the state are much better, perhaps maybe in the mountanous places.
For me personally I've always done best in places where there is fresh sea air blowing.
Re: Best and Worst places to live for asthmatics??
Zulu,
I moved to Delaware last year and this has been the worst allergy experience that I have ever had. My asthma has never really been bad until I moved here. I went to see an ENT and he recommended that I move and I am. I am moving to North Carolina because my research suggests that allergy problem are much less there. BTW, I am 2 miles from the water here in Delaware and it did not make any difference for me.

I live in Birmingham, AL...one of the worst places for allergy sufferers! Ragweed - my goodness, it must be the state flower! And talk about mold, mildew, etc...the humidity here never gets below the 60-70 % mark even in dead of winter. Right now it's in the 90% range. And it's almost year round...only Nov-early Feb are more or less free. The docs here try to start you on injections when thngs you are allergic to aren't blooming...not a very large window of opportunity here!

Howdy! Wow, I have been thinking the exact same thing! I live in SE Wisconsin. The cold winters are killing me. I have decided that if the next winter is horrible again (due to chronic cough, etc.), I will make plans to move OUT OF HERE! ... North Carolina was also where *I* was thinking.
Can you share specifically what you learned abou NC?
Re: Best and Worst places to live for asthmatics??
Jiloa,
I lived on the coast of North Carolina many years ago and had almost no allergy problems. Hurricanes are the problem on the coast so I would suggest west of 95.
Check the demographics of various cities until you find something you like. I picked
Hickory because of the more moderate four season weather. Also, while Delaware was soaring with tree pollen Hickory had half the value, so I am hoping for half the symptoms. It isn't a perfect answer, but it should be help.
