Hi Fellows,

Please, help me in solving my problem. I can not breathe properly. It is not cos' of weather or only during nights. It is all day. I feel so hard in breathing. I have a severe shortness of breath. While siting , standing , lying down, I feel uncomfortable in breathing. I am facing this problem since last one year.
I went for a Pulmonary doctor. He has taken exertion test and check my Oxygen which is 100%. I have gone through Breathing test but he did not find so much symptoms of Asthma. He said it migth be little Asthma. I don't weeze. I sneeze cos' of weather change or cos' of allergy(don't know which allergy). It can be dust or any smell also. The place where I live, carpet is not new, it smells. I feel so much problem but I feel the same outside everytime. I feel relax in fresh air but still I have to take a deep breathe.

I had my CAT SCANs also. No problem of lungs was found. Dr. is recommending me another breathing test on a big machine. I have not gone through that yet.

The biggest problem is that No inhaler is helping me. I am also taking cingular but not so continuos, it is also not helping me.

What should I do? Is it Asthma? Dr. did not recommend me any allergist. Is allergy and Asthma are two different. Allergy can be a cause of Asthma. I am thinking I am allergic to dust etc. but have not gone through any tests.

I am also 5 feet with 147 pounds weight. Is it a weight prob? what can be the cause of improper breathing.

One more thing, can cingular be taken during pregnancy?

I think it would be worth having some allergy tests done. Some GPs can do these skin tests themselves. They drop various allergens onto your skin then wait to see the reaction.

Does your home have a damp problem? That can create terrible lung problems. If you feel better when you're outside, it may well be something in your home which is causing your problems.

I tried Singulair for a while. They say that if it doesn't work within the first month, it won't be worthwhile taking. Best ask your GP about the question of taking Singulair whilst pregnant.

You're right in saying that allergy can cause asthma. My worst enemy is house dust, also inhaled strong perfumes like air freshener.

At 147lbs I guess you're a bit overweight but wouldn't imagine it significant enough to cause breathing difficulties.

Does your doctors surgery have an asthma nurse? I've often found them more helpful than doctors.
