Worst case of asthma.
Well, I am (obviously) an asthmatic. Have been since I was about a year and a half old. Now I'm twenty, and I'm spending upwards of six hundred dollars a month on my medical bills alone. Every doctor that I've seen says that it's the worst case of asthma that they've ever seen. Waking up to use an inhaler during the night is extremely frequent. Nebulizer treatments are daily, usually more than twice. Steroids have never helped in the slightest.
It's gotten to the point where I am afraid to leave the house, simply because all it takes is one little puff of cigarette smoke from some ignorant bystander and I find myself blue in the face. I have had to resign from jobs due to this, and since I live in an area of the country where smokers are pretty much everywhere... this has become a very serious handicap for me.
Are there other people out there with very bad asthma? How do you deal with it?
