| Ventolin cause paralysis in children?
Ok, this is a really weird subject line, and it sounds more serious than it actually is, but when I was about 7 or 9 or something (I'm 27 now), I was in bed awake but supposed to be falling asleep soon, and had 2 puffs of Ventolin. I usually would only have 1, (had mild bronchial asthma as a kid, just annoying and uncomfortable wheezing and constriction) but it didn't work the first time so I had another puff, and then about 10 seconds later, the whole right side of my body went numb, including my face.
I felt ok in my head but was quite disturbed by the inability to properly move or feel the side of my body. I sort of dragged myself into where my parents were and told them how I felt and I was sort of slurring my words, but they didn't really seem to care and thought I was being a bit silly I think...so I went back to bed, and by then I felt slightly less numb...
Is this really strange? Has it ever happened to anyone else? Since then it's never happened, but sometimes if I have more than 2 puffs of Ventolin, I feel very weird and my heart races and thumps very forcibly.
