Did my methacholine challenge... - Asthma Message Board

And I'm positive for asthma. They didn't even do the full four treatments of the methacholine on me. The tech stopped at two because I dropped below 20% that soon. So now I go in on wednesday to see the doctor and get medicine. My question is, are there different medicines for different types of asthma? It seems like I have allergic asthma that's worsened in the cold since I've never had this problem before moving to Ft. Bragg. I'm also going to ask for a referal for allergy testing. I'm so glad I finally have an answer.

There are different drugs but it seems they are based on the severity and the triggers. Typically they put you on a daily preventer and a rescue inhaler for when you have an attack. If your allergies add to that, I would suggest getting tested for specific allergies and adding at least an antihistamine if not immunotherapy (injections) to your asthma meds.

I agree with Titchou and can totally relate about colds. They always make my asthma worse so I would come up with a plan for when well and when sick.
