Is there an asthma medication that doesn't cause sleeplessness, nervousness? - Asthma Message Board

I've been on everything. Vitamin E, Albuterol, another kind of albuterol, advair,a nd xopenex. i recently switched to Advair 150/50, and my asthma seems to act up more than the 250/50 worked. I took a puff of Xopenex last night, because I assumed that xopenex isn't as harsh of a stimulant as albuterol. I take Trazodone for sleep and even with the usual dose that knocks me out I couldn't fall asleep. I was tired, but couldn't fall asleep.

My question is: Aside from Advair, is there any other medication or vitamins I could take to treat heavy breathing/asthma symptoms
that DONT cause insomnia or restlessness?

I have taken singulair on a daily basis for 4-5 years. I might have 1-2 asthma attacks a year that require my inhaler and usually I have come in contact with a heavy chemical odor that I am allergic to. I have suffered no side effects from using this.

although this is not a responce to med.
Have you considered an ionizer air filter,for where you live?
I have 4 models in different rooms and the units are quite affordable.
From $20-$150 . all a matter of choice and they really work,

Do they really Dutch? I have had so many people tell me they're not worth a dime and others tell me they're great. We bought a honeywell that did absolutely nothing and I returned it within 2 days since it was pricey. So it's an ionizer? I'll do a search and see what I come up with. My allergies are really bad right now which aggravates my asthma. Stopped taking my zyrtec and have been taking benedryl the last couple of days and seems to have helped alot.

Have you ever been on a steroid inhaler alone? Like Flovent? You might ask your doctor if you could do FLovent at night instead of the Advair.
