Also, you should be taking the Singulair at night. Are you?
And you mentioned "tests" but not which ones. Have you had allergy testing? You may have allergy induced asthma.
I've had 2 breathing tests and all came out normal. Blood work...normal. No allergy testing recently - but I had 5 years of allergy shots as a kid. So I am prone to allergies ...just never had a reaction like this before.
I've often worried about long term usage also- but the doctors keep me on it since it *seems to be working for me*.
Had my appointment and the doctor wants me to continue with Singulair and Allegra-D at night and see him in 6 months. He's not worried about the throat thing as I don't have problems swallowing, no hoarseness, and no physical lumps can be seen..... he wants me to monitor the humidity in my bedroom and keep it at 40-45%.
I think the 'lump' in the throat is slowing subsiding....so maybe i'm just being impatient. Just gotta ride this out and hope it goes away eventually rather than gets worse... The lump in my throad feels normal when I wake in the morning but gradually becomes more evident through-out the day. Drinking & eating makes it feel better.
I've always had what I call "mucus drainage" in the back of my throat - that's been the extent of my 'allergies' as an adult (no sneezing, no watery eyes, no hayfever - just drainage). In worse cases, It fills my mouth or I snort and I swallow - and it fills my stomach up. I've always felt like I needed to clear my throat especially after eating. The Singulair has helped prevent that tremendously during the day but I still do it a lot after I eat for about 20 mintues or so. Not sure what that's about either.....
Whatever I'm allergic to... or everything... it's very hard for me to pinpoint.
As a kid - I think I was tested to be allergic to everythign it seemed (dust, grass, weeds, mold, etc etc etc).
I guess I'm glad to be *under care* and things could be a lot worse.
Thanks for your time!
