| Re: Astma Help
You can try to identify and avoid things that trigger your asthma. However, I have not heard of any natural remedies that are proven to work. There are amazing claims made, true, but those claims are usually made by people who sell the stuff - have a financial interest in it. Or - some people are strongly impacted by the placebo effect.
Some major, well reputed medical clinics and university medical centers are now doing research about the effectiveness of natural medicine treatments. The Mayo Clinic might be a place to start.
If you go the natural route - be careful. Just because something is "natural" doesn't mean that it will be safe or effective. At the same time, there are many well known, long prescribed medications that are known to be safe, effective, and have few if any side effects. I'm thinking of albuterol (a rescue medication) and flovent (a long acting preventative).
