New Asthma Treatment Guidelines - Asthma Message Board

The American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology news release dated Nov. 11, 2007 gives new guidelines for asthma patients. It has some great information that everyone should read and understand about asthma. One of the most impressive things about it is the statement that all asthma patients should work out a treatment plan IN WRITING with their doctor and nurse that tells them what to do in case of colds, attacks, etc. Very good information to have. I've read too many posts here where the doc just handed someone an inhaler and said use it without a plan to control their asthma. I recommend you all locate a copy of this - the National Institutes of Health also has this info - and take it to your next appointment to discuss with your doctor.

Hi and thanks for that informative web site. It's interesting reading as I am just coming to terms with having mild persistent asthma and struggling with symbicort (symptoms of headaches, grumpiness etc) Thought it was menopause, but when I changed to pulmicort it went away. Doctors seem to plug combination therapy first. Perhaps they need to take a look at this website
