Can you develope Asthma from second hand smoke at a casino??

This is probably a no brainer question, but can you develope asthma from being around second hand smoke at a casino? I have gone alot in the last 3 years. I seem to have problems this spring with breathing, dry throat and tight chest and tight thick throat. I am 43 and never have smoked. If this is true that I could, is it reversible if I never go back?? This is now the only place where smokers are allowed to puff away on their cigarettes. Other wise it is state law that there is NO SMOKING allowed in public places. Please help. Thanks!

It could be that you are allergic to the smoke, though continued exposure to some environmentals can cause inflammation that can lead to asthma.

Well I am allergic to anything green outside, (LOL) cats, dogs, dust mites, molds, chocolate, corn syrup, egg whites, Imodium AD hmmm did I leave anything out?? SO I can imagine I would be allergic to smoke. I just want to avoid getting Asthma at all costs. I have enough to deal with. Thanks for responding!

Then avoid chest infections. In adults, the onset of asthma is most often after things like severe bronchitis, certain types of pneumonia, etc.

It sounds like it's more of an allergy to the smoke. I cannot be anywhere near cigarette smoke. The moment I am I get really tight and start to wheeze really bad. And here I have casinos all around me and cannot go, at least not the ones on the Indian reservations.
