Hi

Have already posted on the allergies board about singulair and thought I would post here too and see if anyone else responded. Apologies to those of you who have already replied.

Just wondered if any of you had used singulair and have had any adverse side effects from using it. Also how long it was/is being used for and if it has been of any benefit.

I've been on it for 9 years. It took about 3-4 weeks to notice a significant improvement when I first started taking it.

I've never had any side effects from it at all.

That's a long time to be taking it. Can I ask you the reason why you were put on it in the first place (if you can remember that far back!), and how it has actually benefited you?

I had some pretty intense daily headaches when I first started on it, but after several weeks that went away.

Personally, I started taking it because Advair alone was not keeping my asthma well controlled. I may end up staying on singulair long-term, and have the Advair titrated up and down seasonally (I tend to have far fewer breathing problems in the summer). The acclimation period to Singulair was not pleasant at all because of the intense headaches, so my plan is to stay on it long term rather than have to go back in it every fall.

I've been taking Singulair for 6 or 7 years. Love, love, love it. I've never had any side effects from it. I also take Advair 250/50. Originally I took 10mg Singulair and 2 puffs of Advair per day. These days, I usually only need half of that per day.
