Hello.
My doc, who suspects I have cough-variant asthma but hasn't done the tests to confirm it yet, has me on Proventil as a preliminary means of giving me some relief. My only symptoms are a persistent, dry cough and a tightness in my chest.

I was wondering if continual use of the inhaler has cumulative effects? For example, I started the inhaler five days ago, and although it helps ease the tightness in my chest each time I use it, I don't necessarily stop coughing right then, although I do definitely cough less. What i have noticed though is that I'm coughing a lot less frequently over all. Could it be these inhalers build up their effect and that is why the doc started me on this?
