Help.. Please someone im desperate. - Asthma Message Board

Hi im a 16 yr old male, i went to doctor couple weeks ago and he checked lungs and i told him my problem i had tightness in chest and shortness of breath like all the time. hE gave me advair at first it seemd it didnt work and 3 weeks later i feel better, less short breaths and if i do get one i dont notice it. But i stopped taking it feeling everythings ok now and when i stop take it for 2 days one night i just get hit with shortness of breaths randomly. Wth?
Please someone help what do i do?

If he put you on Advair he must suspect that you have asthma. It takes a couple of weeks for Advair and other asthma medications to reach their full strength in your body but you have to take them every day for them to be effective.

You should start taking the Advair daily and stick with it.

Asthma is not curable. If that is what you have, you will need to be on daily meds for the rest of your life.
