Re: Possible asthma

I didn't mean to imply that you don't need a pulmonologist, you definitely do. Your doctor at the student health center might be able to get you started on a preventative or at least get you a breathing treatment so that you feel better but that's all. You definitely need a pulmonologist.

And do you mean 1/2 your age in cups? Because in oz that doesn't make any sense...if that were the case, I would only need 11oz/day which is less than 2 cups!!

And it's fine if you're anti-meds, but I'm not.
sorry,it's 1/2 your weight in oz/day. water only ,no sugary drinks or juices or coffee no decaf. of any kind either .
I had to take Advair daily, now I'm free and clear from all meds.

I drink that...as I said, I usually fill up my 25oz water bottle 3x a day. I weigh 135lbs, so that's more than half. And then I drink about 30oz of juice on top of that.

And anything that's not caffeinated or alcoholic counts as water intake. Even the water that's in your food!! Just FYI.

Re: Possible asthma

Ugh...still coughing

I'll wait it out til the end of this week or the beginning of next week, and if I'm still coughing then, I'll go back to the health center.

Re: Possible asthma

Maybe I should go back to the health center today...I've been waking up coughing in the middle of the night the past couple of days. Thoughts?

Re: Possible asthma

Ignoring a cough is never a good idea. You might mention your concern about CVA to the doctor.

Yeah. I just don't know at what point I should go back to the doctor considering I've been sick, and coughs often linger for awhile even after the infection is gone.

Re: Possible asthma

Missy - please don't wait any longer to go back to the health center. If nothing else, they can give you something to control the cough a lot better than an over-the-counter med. The more you cough, the more irritated your lungs will get, and the worse your problems will be. Also, use your ventolin - it's there for a reason.
