asthma and dermatitis

Do any of you have flares of eczema or seborrheic dermatitis when your asthma is flaring?

I currently have a bad flare along my hairline, eyebrows and side of the nose. It happens frequently to me when my asthma is flaring. I haven't found any good treatments for it though. I hate it. In addition to the constant coughing and breathing problems, I'm dealing with itchy flaky scalp issues also. I will say that once the asthma clears up, it eventually gets better. I just have to get through these flares.

I had a doctor who referred to this as part of the "allergic triad": asthma, allergies and eczema.

For anyone who may be dealing with this, have you found anything that works well?

I get eczema on my inner arms and on my back. I HATE IT! It's so itchy. I had it for years before I even knew what it was. I went to the dermatologist to get a mole removed and they were like, "You know you have eczema, right?"

Anyway, I find that mine is normally worse in the Fall (when my allergies are at their worst) and in the Winter (when it's really cold.) I use Benadryl cream on my spots to help with the itch. It seems to work better for me than hydrocortisone cream. And I use plenty of Cetaphil moisturizer after the shower, the more moisturized my skin is the better it seems to be. I also saw some improvement when I stopped using body products with fragrance, but I think I may have an allergy.

I do get dry itchy skin, but I always thought that it was due to the dry air in winter. Thanks for bringing to my attention.
