Asthma

My grandson is 5 years old and had to be hospitalized for 2 days, at the begining 3 months ago he went to the doctor for a cold the doctor took xrays and said he thought he has phamomia. well after 3 different anib. nothing worked his mother called me and said theres really something wrong. I took him to a different hospital and they amited him. for 2 days he was being treated for asthma. poor little guy was so sick. what I'm asking is what kind of doctor should he see for his condition.

Re: Asthma

he should see a pulmonologist - preferably a pediatric pulmonologist. And do you mean pneumonia? Am not familiar with phamonia. You should also know that some strains of pneumonia can cause asthma.

Re: Asthma

Titchou is correct. It sounds like you need a pediatric pulmonologist. This is a lung specialist for children.

I wish your grandson well.

Re: Asthma

I hope that your grandson finds some relief. Seeing a pediatric pulmonologist as Tichou suggested does seem like a good idea.

Re: Asthma

Thank you very much! we went to a baby shower yesterday and he was playing with the other kids and had to get a treatment 2 times! I sure hope this isn't going to happen every time he plays. I just feel so bad for him. And I'm sure he's getting pretty sick of me asking him if he's ok. Thanks again for the reply fast.
