AS is hard to diagnose especially if your symptoms aren't severe. There could be a lot of explanations for the symptoms and it takes a while for doctors to sort it out. On top of that, doctors vary on what they consider to be AS. My 7 yo was diagnosed last summer with AS. The year before, a behavioral ped told me he didn't fit in the Autism spectrum because he shares ideas spontaneously. How lame is that? I was just glad I continued to pursue the proper diagnosis for him because it is important for his IEP at school so they are giving him the right kind of assistance.

You can order it from there. If you do a search on the web you can find a lot of descriptions and diagnostic criteria that will tell you a lot about what it is exactly. For each child it presents itself differently but I'm sure you will find yourself in there somewhere.
