MMR, anyone worried about risks - Autism Spectrum Message Board

I posted last week about what the signs for Autisim are, because I was worried about my son. Took him to the Health Visitor and he's being referred to teh hospital. My question is the MMR arguement has come up again. Has anyone had their child vacinated and now worries. I was against the MMR because of the risk of Crohn's because of family history. But felt ok about having it done and that the risk of brain damage or death from measles were greater. Now I am scared that I may of hurt my son by having the injection. Anyone understand how I feel.

Are you able to get the single shots yet in the UK? I think that it is terrible if those have not been made available yet. You are in a difficult situation because from what our media is reporting, many parents are not immunizing over there and you might be up against a measles outbreak. I don't feel like I could advise you either way, but from my own experience, I feel that the MMR played a role in my son's autism. He had the bowel problems and is now benefiting from a GFCF diet.

We can't get the MMR done one at a time. My son was immunised last year. I was against it because my hubby has crohn's, but after talking to lots of docs felt that there was not risk. As soon as he had the MMR my son stopped walking for a few weeks, and now he is having problems communicating, he screams most of the time. I am at the end of my teather because I am worried about autism. My health visitor is concerned and he has been referred.
How did you know that your son was autistic. With my son I jjust know that something is wrong. I don't know what though.

Have you heard of the IGIV? Immune Gamma Globbulin? A Dr. Sudhir Guptra at the Unv. of California, Irvine, treated a few patients with this and had wonderful results, however, one of the children was totally cured. I am going to talk to my GI MD this week about the possibility of this healing my sons intestines. Another thing was that the boy that was healed had the MMR virus in his intestines, they concluded this by a high Rubella titer. So I am going to see about a Rubella titer before considering a intestinal biopsy. Just some info I thought I would share. You may have heard this or even tried this already. I'll keep you posted if we can go that route for a trial treatment. It can't harm him to my knowledge, but only benefit, and at best cure him. I'll be praying!!!

Hi my name is kathy and i just read your message, i am also suspisious about my sons vaccines, he got seven on his birthday including the mmr, four days later he broke out in a rash all over his body and he had a fever, i took him to the doctors the same day, the doctor came in and was baffled so she brought in another doctor and she was baffled, i said "do you think its a alergic reaction to his vaccines four days ago" they said "no if he would have a alergic reaction to his vaccines he would of had it right after the shots", so finally his original doctor came in and looked at him and said it was rosyola, just that quick, makes me wonder. My son has a evaluation today and i am going to bring that up. I think it was a alergic reaction, thats my feeling. Kathy
