End Of G/F + C/F Diets! - Autism Spectrum Message Board

Hi just wanted to say and hopefully encourage folks using G/F +C/F diets. I have a 15yr old and 8yr old both Autistic . They have been on the 2 diets + yeast free ++++ for (years . They also have been on acidophylus (dairy free)+ Glutamine as diagnosed with leaky gut c/o Paul Shattock AIA. Over the past 9 months I have finnally got them OFF all the above! Over the years have tried introducing the odd product without success without success, but this time EVERYTHING is fine and of course life is much less frustrating all round! No rashes , tummy/bowel problems(except the younger gets occasional constipation)Slight increase in activness in the begining but not enough to warrant such restrictions. The only thing they have now is Melatonin to establish sleep pattern.

Thanks for the encouragement. My child likes her restricted diet and is set in her ways. Maybe I am too. I need some assurance that she does not need to be stuck on this gfcf diet for ever. How many years did you keep your children on their diets?

For 2 Years with minimum amounts of Wheat + odd slip up with Dairy- Then 2 years strict GF+CF+ yeast free with Diflucan fof yeast overgrowth Acidiophylus +Glutamine
