Thanks for the schedule for vaccines. I have a question though. Do I need to get a doctors waiver to go by this schedule, or can I just tell the people that give shots that I'm not getting those at this time. I know as soon as my baby's born they are going to want to give him/her the hep-b vaccine, can I just tell them not to, or do I need a doctors waiver? Thanks so much for your time.

I am not sure about the laws in your state, but here you can refuse any medical treatment including vaccines. Just remember one important thing...it is your baby, not theirs. I am sure you are not putting him directly into daycare from the hospital. You are also not going straight from the hospital to a preschool. Those would be the only reasons to immediatly get your child vaccinated. Just make sure that your wishes are known before you go into labor. When my first son was born, they gave him his vaccines before they asked me anything. They said I signed a consent form for medical treatment. I was highly upset. Let your OBGYN know, the hospital and try to find a DAN doctor. If your state requires you to have a waiver from a practitioner, I am sure they would be more than happy to supply you with one. I just received a new one from my youngest son's DAN doctor. He simply wrote that Tyler's vaccines were to be delayed due to medical reasons. Thanks for all the help. I was due July 12, but I had my baby a week and a half ago. She is perfectly healthy. They asked us in the hospital if we wanted her to have the hep-B and we said no. We plan on following the vaccine schedule you showed me. Thank so much.

Well, this is my opinion on the subject of vaccines. I personal would never give my child a vaccine until their body weight was near 48 to 52 lbs. My reasoning is during my studying about all this with the MMR shoot and with diff. religions and beliefs that the children that have had their vaccines put off as long as possable. oppse to those that had been given them and checking their body weight.. there were no autism.
So, After that of my findings I'd never think of scheduling a vaccine until I felt my child would be safe taking it. But you must do what is right for you & your family.

(( And like I said.. This is ONLY my thinking. ))
