| Re: Sound Therapy
Hi Michele
We do something called Therapeutic Listening. It involves expensive specialized headphones and our son listens to sounds twice a day for thirty minutes. We have seen good results. It supposedly is retraining the various muscles in the inner ear. We cuurently use the Ease 3 CD. This helps with self stimming, concentration. I can not remember the first Cd that we used but it was the basic training CD. We eventually moved up to Sanomas which you listen to twice a day starting at one minute and increase by one minute every three days. However, he was not ready for it, so, our OT put him on the Ease 3 CD and it has worked fine. He will eventually begin listening to Sanomas within the next week or so. There are different levels of listening and Sanomas is the more intense listening.
