is this just autism or something else(HELP) - Autism Spectrum Message Board

My son is 9 years old and was diagnosed with autism at 4. He's always had a bad temper but now its bad temper and very bad swearing. The stuff that he says really scares us(im gonna kill you, shut the f... up, ...) He does this anywhere mostly when he doesn't get his way, ive tried ignoring it but for some reason i dont think thats good cause then he doesn't learn that its not good to say it. What is a good way to discipline him when he does this, he is so testy when i say to him"What did you say?" he will repeat over and over like he doesn't even care . This hurts me so much , im embarassed to take him out sometimes cause if he doesnt get his way this is whats gonna happen, it has caused so much stress in my relationship with my husband. Ive been on different sites to see if their are similiar cases out there but haven't really found anything. Can this be something else , with the autism?
I don't know i just wish i knew what to do cause im scared for when he is older, he is a big boy and i would like to get this under control now.

I don't know about this because my son is only three, but I see the out of control when he doesn't get his way and it's hard to bring him back down from the tantrum. This is something new for us but it's difficult.

I would talk to his Pediatrician about behavioral therapy outside of what he gets at school. If it's that bad then maybe he is chemically off right now at the onset of puberty ??? Ask lots of questions and write down all concerns to be sure they are addressed.

You are right to look for answers though because the longer this goes unaddressed, the worse it can possibly get. Good Luck
