My autistic 9 year old has some real sensory issues with socks. They can't have any threads or strings inside, they can't be too thick or too thin, they can't have any lumps in the seams, they can't bunch up and they can't slide down. I'm constantly on the lookout for good socks for him. I was wondering if any of you have a similar issue in your family and have found something that is working well at your house? I'm just about at my wits end...

Have you tried turning the socks inside out?

I know walmart and Carters sell socks with no seams. Try to google seamless socks. Find a brand and look for a retail store near you.

hi there, i know exactly what you mean about the socks thing, my 8 year old son is very similar.he cant wear socks with strings or threads in them, doesnt like them to be to tight or go to far up his legs, and they cant be to stretchy!
were just dreading the day that the ones he has are to worn and we have to find new! if you find anywhere that does sutible ones, will you let me know!

When desperate, we do turn socks inside out. Sometimes he'll go along with that, sometimes he won't. We are currently using a sock from Wal-Mart, but the one we found there that works is a low-rise sock and now that winter is here he needs something warmer. I did try the google search and found several possibilities! I'm going to give one or two a try and I'll keep you guys posted on what works
