I stumbled accross some research which was claiming that chiropractice can really help autistic children.

I followed this through a little and it seems that there is a debate going on about this in the wider chiropractic world - an issue sometimes called "functional disconnection syndrome".

Has anyone else heard of this or had experience of it or is this just (yet another) spurious claim made by certain people to be able to "cure" autism?

I think it's another spurious claim; however, some autistic children have responded well to it. After an adjustment, they may be a bit calmner, less prone to tantrums.
