i thought i heard something somewhere that orange juice
can be one of those foods that can act like a drug, am i crazy??

my son has cerebral palsy with many aut. tend. and tested
high on an igg test, can you really have a delayed allergy to OJ?

i'm on the fence about the "diets"..

any info is appreciated, thanks,

i have issues with orange juice, and oranges, and tangerines

someone told me taht means i have an intollerance to citric acid
becuase i also had teh same problems iheni ok this C vitimin, which Had citiric acid in it

i now take a specific herbal vitimin thathas no critic acid in it (but still vitimn C)

but its also been implied i could be just plain allergic
but NO ONE ever tests me for ANYTHING i ask for becuase they all think im just a mindess hypochondriac kid, between being under 18 and having fibromyaglia and aspergers. its unbelivabley frustrating.

so i dont really know for sure.

Orange squash, oranges, orange tip tops (long icy orangy things). Absolute no no for us, something to do with the "E`s" which are in the ingredients. He`d be bouncing off the walls after those. And for some reason, Kea-ora squash, after that he would go ballistic. Only time taught us this, lots of things are trial by error, hard to pinpoint sometimes...

My hubby is allergic to many pollens, etc. And one time after he was having a lot of allergy attacks in the spring, he was also getting terrible migraine type headaches (something new) --- His allergy doc said try this:
"don't drink oj for at least 2 weeks, then drink it again. See what happens."

Sure enough the headaches came back. My husband was at least 45 when this occurred. Certainly not a child and the doc said that sometimes you can develop a resistance all of a sudden. Depending on where the fruit is grown, it can retain some of the pesticides (wonderful) and be really bad compared to another brand. I would say shop around til you find one you tolerate or give it up altogether.

Also, during allergy season when you are having problems, a food like oj ---which you usually tolerate---can be bad for you, because your immune system is stressed.

Our allergist said "flat out," that orange juice is literally THE number one in food allergy especially in kids.
how about that? Bet ya never heard that before.
No telling how many colds would be eliminated each winter if moms would throw out the OJ>

My son was VERY ALLERGIC to dairy the 1st yr, corn the 2nd yr and now he's 5 and he's allergic to peanuts and various pollens. Allergies change some you get over others you don't. New ones can come on at any time. Go to an allergist and have your child tested
