I'm not sure, but I don't think they know if it's recessive or dominant since they don't know what causes it.

ALL decendants of my grandfather on my father's side have autism, around 100 people, so unless it is a coincidence against the law of averages, i would say dominant. Maybe autism is better for the body in this day and age. Maybe this is the next mutation in the evolution of our species. In generations to come, everybody micht have something on the autistic spectrum.

One cause they know of is a gene on chromosome 17. Also a missing or damaged corpus colossum, a bridge between the left ansd right hemispheres of the brain, could be the cause. Either the brain is rewired, or the patient can think but is unable to commuinicate as the links in the brain are not functioning or not there.
