I have to say that I cannot fathom a medication that can reduce symptoms that are of a social nature. How can a medicine help overcome social skill deficiencies?
My son takes antidepressants and mood stablizers but they only control the hopelessness he feels and the depression. He is still left with the social phobias and lack of peer relationships.
Feeling a little down today reading posts of parents of really young ones. Once your child reaches adulthood physically and mentally/emotionally they are still in their childhood it's different. My son is intellectually an adult with his associates degree and plays piano, guitar, reads and is extremely bright. Socially he is about age 12. Chronologically he is 24. There is no medication for that.
